2005 Groffier Bourgogne "Pinot Noir"

Very dark for a generic Bourgogne. Ripe, round cherries, but tannic and backwards. Needs a little age. Seems like a Gevrey-Chambertin. However, lacks the earthy truffle of a higher end bottle. Still, this is one of the best Bourgogne I've tried. It makes me want to try more Groffier wines. It is also exciting to try my first '05 burgundy. So far it is living up to the excessive hype.

With a lovely steak, from US Wellness Beef. It is grass fed, organic, and delicious. It was made in the broiler, on a grill pan, which is a great way to go if you don't have a grill. The sides were organic Annie's mac and cheese, and local green beens. Monday is date night with my wife. We went for a short run (4 miles), ate a nice meal, and drank this. The night gets an A.
