2000 Martinelli Chardonnay Martinelli Road

I know. I review a lot of Martinelli wine. They produce consistently good, age-worthy wine. Here's an outstanding chardonnay. Despite the high alcohol and obvious new oak, it has a subtlety and grace that is rare in a California wine. There's lemon curd, mixed with stones and vanilla culminating with a long finish. Yet another winner.

By itself, on the most perfect Sept 1st. Jill and I were married on Sept 1, 2000. This wine was a fun tribute and beginning of the evening. Paid $30 at auction.

Grade: A
