2005 Morot Beaune Teurons 1er Cru

Outstanding '05 red burgundy. Although a tautology, I will have to keep drinking this wonderful vintage to find out if it can do wrong. As much as I love Bouchard's version of this wine, this is better. There's a compelling richness, and depth of flavor, that's rare from wines at this price. Beautiful piny forest, sappy, smoky, exotic tea scented, this is complex, though easy to drink. There's wonderful, mushroom laced ripe blackberry fruit and and excellent finish held together by near perfect balance. I paid $29. Current retail is $60, which is quite fair for this quality. Grade: A.
