2003 Henry's Drive Reserve Shiraz
This is a jammy, hedonistic, heavy alcohol shiraz. Teeth staining purple. Great smells of violets, charcoal, and tar. Then very ripe, jammy and thick on the palate. Like a sledge hammer. It will impress some people but to me there's no poise, and no harmony. The alcohol is too much, and is really heavy. It is all about the power. Long finish. Fine to drink, and I will, but at this price there's better. Retail $50, Grade: B.
