2004 Fourrier Morey-St-Denis Clos Solon Vielle Vigne

I graded this a C back in May, 2007. It has improved and I have some higher hopes. Light ruby. Interesting rusty iron and cherry smells. Acids and cola dominate the palate, but with much aeration, there's a pretty sour cherry and wet bark element. Nice menthol finish. While this won't ever be a great wine, it has a memorable, gritty character. Retail $35, grade: B-.
