2006 Saxum James Berry Vineyard

Big, dark velvet purple, and beautiful. Smells like ripe spicy plums with crushed black pepper. Full, rich body of cloves, herbed spicy dark fruits, and cured meats. Very long finish. This has a lot of alcohol (16.6%), but holds itself with impeccable balance. Delicious and croud pleasing wine. I'm on the Saxum mailing list, and will continue to buy all they offer me. I paid $55, current retail $70, grade: A.
