2006 Turley Moore Earthquake Vineyard Zinfandel
Cheap zinfandel can be a syrupy, unbalanced mess. This has no resemblance to the bad stuff. Its more like a nice, southern Rhone. A delicious nose of pepper, plums, and graphite gets my interest. Full bodied, sweet palate. Massive extracted fruit. High alcohol, showing a lot on the long finish. Great for food with a kick. I'm still proud to be on the Turley mailing list. Retail $75 (much less direct from the vineyard), Grade: A-.
