This is a big, burly monster of a chardonnay. Smells like lemon custard pie. The palate is tangy viscus caramel and lemon. It is sweet and very smooth with an outstanding, clinging finish. I’m not going nuts for this. Somewhat simple aromas of figs and plums. On the palate, there’s pretty berries, and a nice leathery minerality. Huge, juicy, sweet California syrah. Inky purple. Fragrant, nuanced nose. Licorice, crushed red pepper, and dripping, ripe spicy fruits. This is a whole lot of fun. Very interesting white. Smells oddly compelling. Tangy and acidic, with notes of petrol, lemongrass, and a briny, salty, dry peach and nectarine character. Quite a long, nuanced finish.
