2006 Bodegas Borsao Crianza
Inky ruby. Wonderfully compelling spice box, cigar/ cedar, dripping plum aromas. Full, juicy wine, with layers of figs, truffles and fruitcake. Nice, long finish. No need to age, this is delicious right now. I’m searching for value these days. This is a deal. Retail $14. Grade: A

2007 Grand Veneur Clos de Sixte Lirac
Dark jucy opaque purple. Wonderfully ripe, brooding spicy perfectly ripe plum nose. Long, full, chocolate, fresh ground pepper, and flowers on the palate. Delicious. At under $20, I’ve rarely had anything at this quality level. Fantastic value. Retail $18, Grade: A.
