2004 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon

Really dark.   Unbelievable aromas of melted chocolate, eucalyptus, red clay, and plums.  Just stunning palate, with layer after layer of flavor.  There’s cake, candied apple, blackberry, cherry pie, and some caramel.  Multi minute finish.  This is really alive.  It has an energy that’s rare in a wine this big.  Really delicious.   After the [...]

2002 Spottswoode

Young looking deep purple.  Classic cab aromas with cigar box, olive paste, and grilled meats.   For a heavy wine, it is a delicate approach with flowers, bacon, and Turkish coffee.  Smooth, harmonious and very long.  Tannic but so smooth.  This will age a long time.  I’m a fan.  Grade: A.   Thanks Don!

2005 Buisson-Charles Meursault Goutte-D’Or

Pretty golden.    Amazing salted buttery mineral aromas.    A beam of spice and minerals powers through the excellent green apple, and river stones.    Long and quite complex.  A real crowd pleaser.  Easy to drink but will impress those that pay attention.    Retail $60, Grade: A.
