At first totally flavorless. I decanted it, and now after an hour it is drinking well. Lovely velvet color. Highly spiced black cherry. Full, thick and totally Californian in its ripe fruit profile. 2009 Melville Poinot Noir Estate Santa Rita Hills
Pretty translucent purple. Thick aromas of rhubarb, root veggies, and cloves. Nice cherry palate. Long, tannic finish. Totally tasty, but not quite special. Its the same thing over and over. I look for an evolution. Still a well made pinot for $25. Grade: B+
2004 Alesia Kanzler Vineyard Pinot Noir
Dark Ruby. Menthol, earthy, mentholated aromas. An entire sappy medley of a palate of dark, sweet, cherry and rhubarb spice cake. Incredibly long finish.
