My first ’08. As advertised, really nice, pure fruit with a lot of acids and tannins. Perhaps ’96-like. Nothing like the fleshy opulent 09.
Gorgeous aromas of cola, earth and cherries. Somewhat hard and edgy on the palate, with strawberry rhubarb and cranberries. Nice pinot sap. Lip smacking and tangy. Long, smooth and not at all ready to drink. Lay this down at least 5 more years. I paid around $30 and would buy more at that price. Very well made with excellent terrior. Grade: A.

I have tried this wine before and loved it. Being from the north and loving rhubarb, perhaps that is the reason why. Thanks for reminding me about a great wine – need to pick up a few bottles.
